Jamstix 3.6 OSX - Final RC Available

- in OSX 'Audio MIDI Setup' add IAC port named 'JAMSTIX' and activate it
- in Logic MIDI Environment, remove the routing of SUM to the sequencer input and create a cable from JAMSTIX port to desired drum instrument (i.e SSD or AD)
- if there is latency, click TIME in JS song sheet and move song time slider left until drums are in synch with click or other instruments
Sorry, but I might need a little help in the 2nd half of step 2 "create a cable from Jamstix port to desired drum instrument..." I see the output of the Jamstix port, but where am I cabling to? Do I need to create an object that represents my SSD sampler?

stpete111 wrote:Ok I was able to reproduce this bug.

Open Logic Pro X (10.0.6)
Instantiate Jamstix
Load Dial-A-Metal song
Hit the spacebar to start playback - [b:086ae330d6]screen blinks nothing happens.[/b:086ae330d6]
Hit spacebar again, playback starts successfully

Hit spacebar again to stop playback - [b:086ae330d6]screen blinks, playback won't stop and nothing can be controlled in Jamstix nor Logic - everything is locked. [/b:086ae330d6]Playback is still going though.

Hit spacebar a couple more times, screen blinks each time, then finally a Logic error dialog box pops up that says:

[b:086ae330d6][i:086ae330d6]"Error while trying to synchronize audio and MIDI. Sample Rate 32061 recognized. Check conflict between Logic Pro X and External Device."[/i:086ae330d6][/b:086ae330d6]

Once you click "Continue" on that dialog box, Jamstix will finally let you minimize its window, and only then can you stop playback via Logic transport.

Let me know if you need a logfile or something to this effect.
I tried this to see if it happened to me too - I got the "screen blink and nothing happens", but after that LPX operated fine for me - starting and stopping OK with the spacebar.

The cabling in LPX is a bit of a mess for us, too. For some people it just works out-of-the-box, for others you basically try to find the best way to route the MIDI from IAC JAMSTIX to the desired plugin without it going to undesired plugins (incl.Jamstix) as well.

Do you still have the slow speed now? Most people got 1MB/s and more.

Yes, the 'screen blink' should be accompanied by Jamstix saying 'Keyboard focus returned to LOGIC' in the status line.

Yeah, still very slow on my MacMini with Mavericks 10.9.2. It starts with about 160-130 KB/s, then it's going down to about 60-80 KB/s on my DSL 25MB line. And it seems to slow extremely down below 1 KB/s or even stop when the Manager app/window is in the back, coming up to 80 KB/s again when i click it to front (i only have Thunderbird and Firefox running at that time).

I'm downloading in Germany via Deutsche Telekom, biggest backbone here and no other probs with my line.

I'm really sorry for that, I'm seeing >1MB/s state-side right now. It must be something slowing things down across the Atlantic.

Oh, and not to forget: The average bandwith display in the Manager's window isn't accurate. I'm monitoring it via iStat menu and most of the time there i get twice as much KB/s on my interface. The real values are the ones i'd posted before.

Please edit /Documents/Jamstix3/jamstix3.ini in TextEdit and add a section for BitWig as follows:

[BITWIG]
OWL=4

Save and run BitWig/Jamstix and the white screen issue should be solved. If you get any errors with JS, please let me know.

That solves the white Screen Issue. Thanks.

I still get a weird behaviour when moving around the window - only the frame of the window moves, but the whole graphic GUI stays put. If I wait for a moment or drop the window, the GUI "jumps" back into it's frame...
I test this on my old MacBookPro 2007 17" 2.4 GHz Core Duo, OSX 10.9.2, 4GB RAM, so it may be related to that. But it feels spooky ;-)

I also get an issue when saving: the Save Dialog is "between" the graphic GUI and the Window Frame... :?

Now I closed Bitwig, but Jamstix stayed on screen... Huh? The Window Frame is missing, but the whole GUI is still there... Weird. I was able to close Jamstix through the Menu.

I see errors both on the Mac as well as on my fast and new PC (6 core i7 @ 4.1 GHz, 32 GB RAM, Windows 8.1.U x64) when loading an existing project with Jamstix (latest version) in it. The GUI is white and I see: ERROR: Cannot open core event. Contact support...
This is the case for several betas. If I reload the Project, it usually works.

This is with Bitwig 1.0.7.

Cheers,

Tom
