tripled snare fill over straight groove???

Hi, I have a question about triplet feel snare fills. I assume most of you know the song "little talks" by "of monsters and men".
What I especially like is the drumming because of the wonderful triplet-feel-snare fills.
I know how to program triplet feel patterns by hand (thank´s to the good advice for a come together cover).
But how can advise a drummer to throw these in every now and then.
