Hello -
At times, while working in the bar editor, I hear a drum that (when I loop the bar) isn't visible as an event in any of the Groove, Accent, or Fill bar editors.
I've learned that sometimes it's an "invisible" fill that I can make go away by turning off RF/TF in the song menu.
But sometimes the sound is still there even after that. I imagine it's being generated by a brain, but at that point the only thing I know how to do is trash the bar to make it go away.
What is the best way to:
1) Identify what control is generating the drum, so that potentially I can ...
2) Edit the "mystery drum" sound?
Thanks -

I see from another thread you have Jamcussion, the sounds are most likely ( but not necessarily ) coming from JC make sure in the wizard to set the JC section to silent for style and drummer and empty kit, or similar.
This was driving me nuts until i figured out what was going on.
I think JC should be disabled by default at strartup of JS but i can't find anywhere to do that.
Cheers

Thanks, Wolff_man. In this case as it turns out it wasn't Jamcussion. I disabled it (SHIFT-CLICK on the blue thing at the top left), and the sound was still there.Wolff_man wrote:I see from another thread you have Jamcussion, the sounds are most likely ( but not necessarily ) coming from JC make sure in the wizard to set the JC section to silent for style and drummer and empty kit, or similar.

I'm guessing it is a brain element deciding to play it, but I have no idea how to track it down.
It's not the end of the world, as I just clear the bar when this happens, but I realize that is probably pretty inefficient. Also, I hope one day I don't spend time building a bar up by hand then realize there's this extra sound in it I can't make go away.
Should be OK, I think, if I only build up bars with NO STYLE-NO DRUMMER, and making sure there are no TF or RF checked in the song list.
Anyone else have any ideas about "mystery" hits?
Thanks!
Mystery drum sounds that don\'t appear in Groove/Accent/Fill?
I have experienced this before where there were hits playing that were not in the groove, accent, or fill (Jamstix or Jamcussion). Unfortunately, the only way I ever found to "clear" out the hits was to delete the part and recreate it. This was on the 32 bit version and haven't had it on 3.5 yet. Maybe not much help but if you just can't get the hits to clear try deleting the part (save first of course). If I remember correctly, I even tryied copying the part and the new part still had those "invisible" hits in it.

Alexis, please do a 'Save Song' in JS3 and send me the file along with the bar number where the mystery hits occur so I can research this.

Mystery drum sounds that don\'t appear in Groove/Accent/Fill?
I noticed another place where hits are generated but not shown up in the bar editor - up at the top there are some check boxes that describe where hits are placed (I can't remember, it might be something like, "Always crash at end", or something like that).
Unchecking those boxes gets rid of some of the "mystery" hits. I'll keep an ear out to see if that gets rid of all of them or not.
[b:eb00131700][u:eb00131700]Feature suggestion:[/u:eb00131700][/b:eb00131700] Ralph, could it work that if we are going to hear a drum sound, to make it so it appears somewhere in one of the bar editors? That way, we can do more than just delete it, we might like it a lot but just want to edit it.
Thanks!

Mystery drum sounds that don\'t appear in Groove/Accent/Fill?
Hi - I think the "Crash after fill" is the mystery beat I started this thread about. It's a brain item, and the actual drum hit doesn't appear in any of the boxes in the bar editor.
However unlike other brain items, last night I was not able to left click/disable this. Is there any way I can make those "Crash after fill"s go away if desired?
Thanks!
