Hi!
I tried the latest beta 3.6 18 with Cubase 6.5 but all I got was a black screen in Cubase and also the server window with an additional faulty Jamstix window running separately.
When I tried to run the beta version using SAVIHost stand alone it worked OK!

May I say that this is really annoying?jazzmandan wrote:Nevermind I looked it up!jazzmandan wrote:
By the way, tell me again, what is that Audio Plugin Server??
Whenever you load Jamstix into your host, you will notice a small application opening on your
desktop with the name ‘Jamstix’. This is the audio plugin server of Jamstix and a very distinct
feature of Rayzoon products beginning with Jamstix 3.6.
The audio plugin server allows for the following functionality:
1. Interaction between different products, regardless of host (i.e. Jamstix playing
intelligently with the future JamBassist plugin)
2. Efficient sharing of resources if multiple instances of Jamstix are used
3. Allows caching of resources for faster repeat load times
Do not close the ‘Jamstix’ audio plugin server window while Jamstix is open in your host. If all
your hosts are closed, you can close the window if desired. Leaving it open will improve load
times if you plan to open a host later on.
Most of my hosts open this window on VST scan when I'm not even using Jamstix and I really don't see this as good behaviour of a plugin. Imagine more plugins starting stuff like that and plastering the desktop?
I personally would prefer having this as an option I can disable - the scenarios it's supposed to help with don't apply here.
Or at least make it into a tray-icon so it's out of the way.
Cheers,
Tom

Just thought I would report that I have been using Cubase 7.5.10 for about 8 hours now with the new beta and it has been going very well. Every once in a while the bar editor gets "confused" about what it is showing and what it is playing but clicking away to another bar and coming back (forcing it to redraw the bar) always fixes it (it did this in Cubase 6.5.5 also). It seems to happen when I use the "cycle" button (the circular arrow that plays the same bar over and over) and then switch to a different bar.

I think I have found a problem... It could be user error and if so, I sure am stumped...
I started a new, empty project in Cubase (6.5.5 and 7.5.1). I put a new instance of Jamstix in the Instrument Rack.
I load the kit, "Close Up" from the "Electronic" category.
The kick has a pedal but no drum. No sound comes from the kick when clicking the pedal, playing a groove, etc. I have checked the outputs are routed correctly and tried "downmix" to no avail. I can replace the kick with any other non-ePak kick piece and it works fine (they do show an actual drum, not just the pedal). Further, I tried several other ePak kicks and they also have a pedal only and no drum (and none of them produce sound either). Lastly, I can preview the kicks and I actually get a sound, so the sample is apparently there. I am fairly certain it is related to the actual drum not being there (i.e. just the pedal).
Anyway, can anyone else reproduce this?

Oh yeah, I also wanted to mention that I did try to reinstall the XL pak and it didn't help.

Hi JL, The kick is there for me in Reaper but is placed to the right of the pedal. It does produce sound also.

OK. So that made me think to move the kit pieces around a bit. I unlocked them and moved them all around. Added and subtracted some pieces, and used the "Reset kit visual arrangement" command. Those didn't do anything. Then I clicked the dice (randomize) function and the actual kick drum appeared, but to the right of the pedal like you described it. Sound worked at that point. I will have to experiment a bit with saving kits, etc. Will report back.a_zimuth wrote:Hi JL, The kick is there for me in Reaper but is placed to the right of the pedal. It does produce sound also.
==========
OK. I can click the dice until I get the kick sound I want and then save the kit and it will reload properly (although the drum is still off to the right of the pedal). It still will not let me select the ePak kicks directly from context menu.

May be completely unrelated, but I installed 360b18 yesterday and spent half an hour scratching my head at why it would compose anything more than a hihat pattern, before I noticed that it had defaulted to 0% dynamics...
Just a thought.

I see similar behavior (Cubase 7.5 x64, Jamstix 3.6 Beta 18 ). When viewing a bar and toggling between Groove, Accent, and Fill - when I return to the Groove some of the elements are missing. To fix I just toggle to a different bar and then back to the bar I am working on.Just thought I would report that I have been using Cubase 7.5.10 for about 8 hours now with the new beta and it has been going very well. I must say that I fully agree. I won't be upgrading if this is the behaviour of the plugin. Like Tom, none of these scenarios apply to me and I do not want another application running outside my DAW. Please, Ralph, make this configurable and have it turned off by default.Tom_H wrote:May I say that this is really annoying?jazzmandan wrote:Nevermind I looked it up!jazzmandan wrote:
