This was pretty much the last thing I did last night so I've copied out the log and sent it on.Ralph [RZ] wrote:Yes, it's not perfect. The rub is that we need to call a separate executable now for Pak installation since our decompression code could not yet be ported to 64-bit. Many users have JS stay-on-top so the installer app would launch behind it, hence we set it to stay-on-top.RhythmicallyChallenged wrote:The PAK Installer is a bit strange in that the main window stays on top when the file selector opens ... it's also possible to click "Select PAK files" and get a second file selector window open. Minor detail though.
If this happens again, please send me rzdlog.txt right away.RhythmicallyChallenged wrote: [EDIT] Had one total crash of Cubase (first one since 6.5.1) while trying to load JS3.5 while a project was playing. The idea was to replace part of a Kontakt kit with JS3.5 as a sample player using Jamcussion. Cubase crashed on loading JS3.5, which had not previously been in the project.

Having a lot of trouble here as well. All seems to be permission related. When I tried to install the paks, I was getting an error, "Can not create file C:\Program Files\Jamstix3\data\sounds\Drumstick...., access is denied, contact Rayzoon for support". So then I tried running Cubase in Admin mode and was able to install the paks (I have the beta 4 by the way). Also could not create a song with the builder unless in Admin mode. I was getting, "Can not create file C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 6\im.dat". Lastly, I was not getting any sound unless in Admin mode. When not in Admin mode and I click the kit pieces in the display, there is no sound or even a signal jump in the mixer panel (all mixer channels activated). It is like the sound files are just silence. Once I ran Cubase in Admin mode, it appears to be working fine.
Sincerely,
J.L.

Hi Ralph,
Just wanted to let you know I couldn't get any sound with Beta 3, but with Beta 4, I have sound with the internal kits, which is great. The only glitch I get is if I minimize the plugin window, while the song is playing, I get a 1sec silence, and the screen freezes, then the song continues playing. Interesting thing is it doesn't happen when I click on the FX button to maximize the window again.
Apart from that, Beta 4 is working well. The next thing on the agenda is to get my SSD4 going.
Specs are fyi: Win7 Home, i7 laptop, 330M 1GB Nvidia card, 8GB RAM. All drivers are up to date.
Thanks for a great release.
cheers

I work around this by creating a seperate folder for all VST/VSTi plugins and granting full permission to the group Users on that folder; then I installed beta 4 into a subfolder called Jamstix3 (both the plugin and the JS VSTi). In Cubase, under Devices / Plugin information you need to add that folder to the VST2 seach path.jas_lan wrote:Having a lot of trouble here as well. All seems to be permission related. I think this is generally an issue with VST2 technology which seems to have made the assumption that everyone runs Cubase with administrative rights (not a good idea these days if you have an internet connection!).

On my instance of Jamstix beta there are no shuffle sliders visible...? I'm not sure if this is the case with everyone?

Confirmed, nothing in either the Time or Shuffle control panel on my installation. [color=red:260653e4e0][b:260653e4e0]:CORRECTED[/b:260653e4e0][/color:260653e4e0]bakiki_ wrote:Ralph

Beta 5 is now out, which should fix all reported errors. Just install over Beta 4 to the same location(s).
Let me know what remains with this Beta and thanks for testing!

Beta 6 is out now, same as Beta 5 but we removed some unneeded debug info that was filling up the log file fast and costing disk I/O time.
