Rayzoon RoadMap (As Of October 2017)

Does jamstix 4 allow now layer drums ?. I test currently the 3.6 demo, only important i miss is the layer of sounds. I see that i can load in a cymbal slot also snare and kick sounds. But when i change the key to same number as kick, then only kick is play. when i change the kick key, to other then the second sound is play. I test also with the default cymbal sound. it is not possible to set the key value to same notenum, and not 2 sounds can trigger with same. in this test, every midi key of c3 press, does not play cymbal too.

The layer feature is the only feature that avoid me to buy. The EQ have fixes values, but it is usefull enough. A frequency of mid band setting from 40 hz upto 16 khz is nice and better of course if Jamstix 4 have it. Also a Q Setting is usefull.

Maybe you can tell what new features the Version 4 have, and if there is a free update possible, when i buy the 3 now. or when does the 4 now release ?

Jamstix 4 will be a bit delayed to early 2015. I don't have a finalized feature list, yet. All Jamstix 3 purchases within six month of Jamstix 4 release will get a free upgrade.

I'll see about getting the layered triggering into Jamstix4.

thank you for info. If you know some new features that come in jamstix 4 sure please let us know ;-)

I hope it is possible in jamstix 4, that at least 2 drums that are set to same midi Note number (for example c2) can trigger and play together. phase sync is not need, to sound fuller in this situation

When transpose a Snare ( +4 tones) and mix the original tune snare at a level of -12 db. then with 2 layers it sound much fuller, the snare have the punch but it sound really as higher tuned. and because of the detune, it doesnt matter if 1 snare trigger 1 ms later.

Or use a tight base drum, with a reverb basedrum. this get more low freq punch. For snare , kick, tom it is good. cymbals or hats sound not good with diffrent transpose together.

Ralph, can you tell us what the upgrade price will be for JS3 --> JS4? I am talking about faithful, long-standing customers and supporters of JS3, not a new customer who gets it for free...

Our usual upgrade price is $49. This is unlikely to change for Jamstix 4.

The upgrade maintains your current expansions so your XLPak and Jamcussion will transfer to Jamstix 4.

Ah, that answers my previous question I sent to Ralph in an e-mail....
So I either wait until the end of the year (is that right - it will be the end of this year when it is released?) and buy Jamstix 4 (so no drum programming until then), or I buy Jamstix 3 and be happy with that. Choices!
