How to Videos

Post by jp »

Ok, I think it's high time to get back to the "how to videos." There are 16 disabled video links on the main site and it's been that way forever. If there are no plans to produce those videos, simply remove the links.

Hope I didn't sound too harsh, but I would like to see the other videos some day :D

I also don't want to sound harsh or critical of Ralph. As we all know he provides a fantastic support and keeps developing the product in innovative ways. However, I too would really like to see some more videos. I have hardly used Jamstix 3 because of heavy work commitments. I know I need to spend time with it to get the best out of it, but some videos would really help me do that. I also think it would make the product less daunting for potential new purchasers. This is tough for Ralph because producing videos doesn't generate income directly, but hopefully would encourage new customers. I'm buying the AI Pack anyway, just to support Ralph. I can't imagine when I'm going to get time to use it!

Would we be willing to pay a little for tutorials? If the price point was right ($5 maybe per tutorial with enough usable information), I would be willing to pay. I really WANT to be able to use Jamstix to its fullest, but have NO clue how to get there... :(

Another option: perhaps Ralph knows users who are "experts" and could be convinced to help out by creating some tutorials, as well.

Wow.. talk about crazy... I was just thinking the same thing about the videos the other day. I've been around since Jamstix 1 and really haven't gotten a whole lot productive out of it yet because the workflow still baffles me. Don't get me wrong.. I've gotten SOME results (mainly because of the EXCELLENT tutorial over at the Ben Vesco site (here but nothing to brag about.. and nothing really usable.

I remember there was the talk about time being dedicated to making truly useful videos once JS3 came out... still waiting. LOL

Don't get me wrong... the product seems awesome and I've HEARD many people get great results... I just can't seem to do it.

Although I agree that video tutes are good to have, I gotta say I have been poring thru the manual recently (yes, finally) and I've been learning a helluva lot. It's not a huge manual, but it teaches you a lot. I am really feeling "comfortable" with Jamstix lately, it's quite inspirational. Beautiful software!!! The "learning curve" is by no means as dramatic as you (or I) might initially believe(d).
