ohhhhh Ralph...please...hope you can do the AU. DP and Logic don't support VST's. not sure how to handle midi out though.

I'm seriously thinking about switching to MAC soon. All my VSTs have a MAC version... except Jamstix. Checking the forums I was somewhat discouraged by the fact that the MAC version had been announced for the end of 2009. The Wine solution doesn't interest me. I want to go to the MAC platform to stop messing with drivers and workarounds.

I love Jamstix and use it on all my compositions to drive Superior Drummer. I never want to go back to EZPlayer or any other similar composing tool for drums. So I guess I won't be able to switch to MAC until Jamstix is available for MacOs.(':roll:

I switched to mac a few months ago and have been really unproductive since I did. Jamstix is just such a fundamental part of my writing.

I know that there is an OSX workaround, but I haven't had the time/mental bandwidth to address that yet.

Please Ralph - any update or rough ETA?

been using jamstix since 2006 and a mac version was never really of interest but now i have a new mac arriving today it is. : )

I've been using Windows since W95 but I just ordered a new MacBook pro because I need firewire. Jamstix is the only thing I will be keeping a windows setup for.

Windoze supports firewire too. What product are you using with firewire? Or is the problem that your firewire gizmo doesn't have a Windoze counterpart?

If it's about speed, USB2 is actually faster than firewire.
Firewire is ~400Mb/S
USB2 is ~480Mb/S.
USB3, if anybody ever gets around to making USB3 stuff, is something like 7 times faster than USB2.
USBX, which I just made up, works via telepathy so it's smokin' fast. Ooops. Nobody was supposed to know about that...

USB2 has a technical throughput of greater than 1394A, but is requires "micro"-managing by the CPU and in practice, rarely outperforms FW. FW is a much more process friendly network interface, as the hardware looks after much of the polling and communication protocol stuff.

RME have the right idea -use 1394B (FW800) and [i:0c179c2a7f]turbocharge[/i:0c179c2a7f] it!
