I am using a single channel to Reaper with JS panned center. I am using the pan and vol controls in the JS kit screen to create my mix.
The question: If I have my drums panned from 40% left (20% of the stereo width) to 40% right (20% of the stero width), that means I have a total stereo width of 40% from the center point (20% on each side).
I have the stereo width knob at 100%. I understand if I turn it to 0% I get a mono mix. But what does it do at, let's say, 50% for example.
Is it like taking, say, all my left side drums and panning them down to 20% from their original 40%? So like a master panner?
Confused: Stereo width question
