I have asked this question before but got no responses. I'm hoping someone will give me some help this time around...
I have been using JS 2 (and now JS3) up to now with the build in kits. I like some of the kits in Battery 3 quite a bit, but found that with many of them the mapping between JS and B3 is incorrect. There is only one B3 mapping option in JS, called "Battery 3 - Soul Kit + JS2 Percussion". So this works with some kits but others are mapped completely differently.
I understand how to map them, either in JS or in B3, but it is time consuming and error prone (you get some of the articulations wrong, etc). I was wondering if someone was aware of an online database of *.j2k kit files that contains more of B3's kits.
Otherwise, are there any suggestions on how to make the process easier and less error prone?

I'm sorry I can't offer answers or any files, but i can say that i'm a fellow Battery user, and was also a little disappointed to see there's only the one template for battery.
I think it would be a great time for Rayzoon set up a file repository for users. There's going to be a lot of people wanting to share kits and drummer models, etc with the introduction of JS3.

There were mappings for Battery 2:
http://www.rayzoon.com/downloads_de.html
But I assume that this is old stuff and of no use for Jamstix 3.
Since the Battery 3 Kits are fairly simple (without many articulations) a mapping only takes 10 min or so. Just did the MultiMic Kit.
But it would be great to have a place to exchange files, cause it's a waste of time that every user has to start from scratch.
There are so many good samples out there and in the heat of the battle there is no time to map them and to do this beforehand takes serious time.
Please let us recycle the efforts...
Peace,
B.

I would also like to see more Battery 3 mappings.

Would definitely be good to see more mappings 'out of the box' with Jamxtix.

I did mappings for nearly all the Toontrack kits (available in the last beta).
The Battery kits are a bit different, since there are 104 kits and a kit can contain several samplesets for one kind of drum (i.e. several kick drums) on different MIDI notes, so it is impossible to do THE mapping for every situation.
Just as with the Toontrack mappings I did an Excel sheet with all the kits.
Since most of the kits are rather abstract you can not even decide which samples are for which drum in some cases...
What I can do is to map some of the more conventional kits and send them together with the Excel file to the admin here, perhaps he will put them in the next package...
But anyway, if you want to use Battery with Jamstix and want to use the full potential, you have to adjust the mapping.
The Excel sheet will help to get you started, but it takes a bit time to get into that.
Anyways, it is not as hard as the Toontrack mappings with all the articulations and alias stuff.
I'm quite busy right now, so this can take a while.
Would be great if some of you would participate in this and map some kits or provide mappings that already exist. Send me a PM and I send you the Excel sheet, coordinate who would do which kit and provide help for the first mapping.
Remember: You can not expect a 99$ program to provide all mappings for each and every third party product it can work with.
We have the tools to do mappings ourself and it would be great if we could recycle our mappings, that's all we could ask for.
Compare it with word templates. Microsoft provides some of them, but you would not demand a certain template that is missing, would you?
Neither would you expect some crazy guy in a forum to deliver 104 of them, just in case you would need them
Peace,

Using Battery 3 in Jamstix 3
Hi,
i gues it would be suffient to do mappings for the acoustic kits - especially the new battery 3 kits. From the version 2 the soul kit of which a mapping existis is imo in fact the only one worth while proor V3.
And when looking at the v3 acoustic kits it seemed to me that most have a similar mapping more or less close to GM. Expection: the full jazz kits.
On my list are just:
from v2: soul kit
from v3:
- Heavy Rock Kit
- Rock Kit
- Pop Kit
- Tight Kit
- Dragon Kit
- Dub Remix Kit
- Full Jazz Kit (Sticks)
- Full Jazz Kit (Brushes)
that would do it for me - and if I find the time I will do it and post the result.
cheers, drjee

Hi,
I just started to explore using Battery3 kits with JS3.
Anyone got any Battery3 mappings to share?

Hi,
I finally did the mappings of the kits I listed. You can download them here:

I also made mappings of the Konatkt Factory Library acoustic kits and the Abbey Road 60s Drums. You can download them here:
