exporting midi - can drums be split?

Post by clare_bear »

Hi

Is it possible to export JS2 midi into individual drums? I want to be able to treat, say the kick drum differently in terms of compression, in the verse to the chorus.

Is that possible or are there any work arounds that anyone can suggest? I'm using Reaper, JS2 and EZDrummer for the sounds.

Thanks

You can assign separate MIDI channels to sounds in the kit editor.

Or, in Reaper, right-click the MIDI Clip and select "Item processing", then "Explode MIDI item by note row (pitch)"

Thanks very much, DarkStar. I'll give that a go later, that sounds like the perfect solution.
