Hi folks,
although I've used Jamstix almost since day one, i've always used it in a single track, ie, all kit on one fader. I would like to import a multitrack MIDI drum file and have say Kick on fader one, snare on 2, etc. Is there an explanation anywhere or could someone guide me thru it please ?
I am using Reaper as a DAW
cheers,
Les

How to load multitrack MIDI file Jamstix / Reaper ?
Ok, with much help from the Reaper Forum guys, here's the answer -
1. Load up Jamstix into Reaper.
2. Load the kit you want.
3. In the kit window, set the output routing (the triangle box, to right of "Install Pack" in kit window) so your drums are being sent out the way you want them, ie, set to 8 outputs.
4. In the mixer window, make sure you have enough outputs, and make sure Downmix is turned off.
5. In Reaper's FX window, right-click on Jamstix and have Reaper build the routing for you.
I now have it working, so I made a Template...it loads the Standard JS2 kit, drummer Steve, and a Funk demo I threw together. It should put all drums/perc/ambience on seperate faders in Reaper. Also it puts Jamstix on the VSTi track, ready armed, and SHOULD enable the routing to the individual tracks. If not, click in the Kit section of JS, and as described above, click the little triangle dropdown menu, and choose the longest option (8/Ambience etc).
Grab it at -
http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/5/.../Temp_Demo.RPP
Save the above RPP file, then in Reaper, -
TRACK / INSERT TRACK FROM TEMPLATE / OPEN TEMPLATE
NOTE...this assumes you are using Jamstix Beta 2.5.2 same as me

There's a few Reaper Jamstix templates floating around on the Reaper forums that do this for you, but this tutorial explains the process quite well.
