intros to songs, mild rant

ild rant', 'To avoid confusion not talking about the "intro" part item / function in the song menu . . .

It seems that the behind the beat thing that makes jamstix so groovy, human might be a bit of a problem in an intro section . . . it has been for me.

I may not have exactly the greatest timing in the world, but I paced jamstix against the metronome in Reaper I think the thing that makes James Stix (in my example) really cool for a laid back pocket may be making a precise intro a bit of a problem . . . anyway, trying different things, but I dunno, has anyone else had this problem? It seems like it should be an important part of the program to make this kind of thing fairly easy, rather than a tedious click click click click of functions that only mysteriously affect the "performance". . . I may be reduced to importing audio tracks from an easily programmable (i.e. not all the headaches of clearing bars, measures, parts, etc . . . figuring out how to get a truly "blank slate" -- what a hassle! -- why not a more global function or two?) . . . anyway this post is devolving . . .

I guess this is really more a comment than a question, perhaps more a reflection of frustration at what seems to be a fairly steep learning curve than anything else. It bears repeating that the feel these "drummers" is really amazing (to my ear) . . . anyway, I am looking forward the evolution of jamstix as it becomes more user friendly while retaining its advanced features.

I can understand your frustration.There are some things that can get annoying but hopefully they will be worked on.As for intros I just made a few blank 4/8 bars in JS midi editor and then saved them.I can then import them when doing a new song if that helps ?

I don't think I fully understand the problem. Timing for a part can be influenced by adjusting the precision slider in the brain. Set it to zero and the timing is spot on.

That was my first thought: if you want a tight intro, set the timing of that part in the middle and then adjust the following parts behind the clock...
