what is the best wat to do a triplet quarter note fill???

Post by TomR »

I have a Latin piece I'm beginning to work on and I would leke to inject a triplet quarter feel on the last 2 beats of the measure of some of the fills. I know I can move the timing of the hits but was wondering if anyone had a shortcut to accomplish this.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

BTW I'm on ver 2.5

Yeah, bring up the 'Shuffling' slider in the fill tab.

AFAIKT the shuffle will only change 8th and 16th notes. Pluss I only want tha last 2 beats of a 4/4 bar to be quarter triplets.

I will dig a bit further and see if what you suggest will work.

A quarter triplet consists of 3 quarter notes that take up the space of a half note. So you'd place a hihat note on beat 3, another one on the 16th before beat 4 with timing offset of -48th note and the third one on the 16th after beat 4 with timing offset of +48th.

Thanks Ralph I knew I could move the hits like that. I was hoping for a simpler way... Perhaps someday a fill option for triplet quarters. That would be very nice.

+1 for an easier way to create quarter triplet fills!

I have one I like pretty much that I created outside of Jamstix, and I'll try saving that and loading it back into JS.

BTW, this came up for me because I just started trying out Jam with Audio and I've been pretty much wowed by what JS can do in this mode. Those few quarter triplet bars bugged me, which is why I did a Search and found this.
