How did you first hear of Jamstix?

Post by Rickeg »

I originally heard about Jamstix from a session drummer three years ago. But, I had not been exposed to the VSTi concept then. So, it was well over my head.

Today, with using the multiple Soft Synths included in Sonar, I was able to develop the skills to learn how to tweak a synth like Jamstix. So, I went back to an old bookmark I saved from back then to download the demo.

I was very pleased how it operated with Sonar in enhancing those tracks I had recorded but disliked because of the awful 80's MIDI drum sounds. I feel like releasing a "Remastered" version of these songs once I receive my order.

I'm usually not so much into Drum-Plugins since most of them sound pretty dead and boring to me.
When the winter sale was announced on the KVR Bargain thread I thought it sounded interesting, downloaded the demo and was more and more intrigued the more I learned about it.

You are definitely onto something with this tool!

Congrats and thanks for the sale!

Tom_H,

I can honestly tell you that you will not believe what this instrument can do. It has honestly transformed a lot of aspects of my songwriting.

I just bought Jamstix 3 after reading about it in the Reaper forum and trying the demo during the weekend.
Excellent app.
Now, if you excuse me. I have a jam to do :D

I was just searching on Google for drum SW and a forum post mentioned Jamstix and with a link. I took a long look at Jamstix vs EZdrummer and after playing with the JS demo for some time decided the capabilities of JS3 outweighed the complexity learning curve. I really like the approach, and I hope you all continue to drive on user interface and workflow simplification. What if JS could listen to a recorded song and recognize song structure automatically. I haven't played with the Learn button, but am hoping it will take a basic kick drum snare groove I play on a midi keyboad and use it as the foundation to build a customer groove I can save as a Style.

it KVR', 'I Googled "Groove Agent 3 alternative", and landed on KVR. Glad I found it. There's nothing else like it.

Reviewed it on KVR here:

Hello!

Someone on the fractalaudio.com forum recommended Jamstix some time ago. I thought it looked very promising. Just a great approach to solve the #1 problem I struggle with trying to write and demo songs. (manually programming drums - too tedious).

I just came across another post at Fractal, which both reminded me about Jamstix AND let me know you are having a sale. So today I DLed the demo, played with it a bit and boom.. love it. I just ordered the full 'Studio' bundle. Smoking deal @ $125.

Looking forward to this. Cheers!
