It's funny I never read in this thread and so I never post where I first heard about JS. For sure was on IL [FLStudio] forum [someone mentioned Jamstix 1] From that moment JS gives me all I need regarding drum parts. Great appy great support. Thumbs up Ralph.

I first heard of Jamstix on a Kraznet tutorial of Samplitude. He said it is the next best thing to a live drummer and "it doesn't get drunk and steal your girlfriend". I teach an audio class at a charter high school and I'm looking forward to having the students create music with it and Samplitude. I bought the whole suite because I like to get good deals and I won't feel like I should have got it later. I hate that feeling.
My first post here.

I've heard about JamStix on practically every forum I frequent. Samplitude, Cubase, PG Music, Northern Forums, and Kraznet's Samplitude videos.

I was looking at Toontrak's Superior Drummer 2.0 with EZ Player Pro. They were having a Buy one - Get one free sale.
I ordered it and then went through the various forums and counted the recommendations for Drum Samples and software.

I was surprised to see that JAMSTIX was recommended over everything else by at least a 25 to 10 ratio. I thought, "Hmmm, I'd better check this out."
I dowloaded the demo and was blown away both by the sound of the kits and the players. When I saw that I could use the SD2 kits as well, it was a no-brainer to order it.

Pay-Pal neglected to notify Ralph of my order, so after five days I emailed him and asked about the download link. He not only sent me the link immediately but upgraded me to the XL pack.
All I can say Ralph, is that JamStix is fabulous and your customer service is "away and beyond" the call of duty.

Kraznet, a SAMPLITUDE-User from London, made a video-tutorial about SAM in combination with Jamstix2. He set a link in the SAM-Forum!
I was watching the video and bought Jamstix2 imidiatly.

I needed a drums-percussion generator, and was going through reviews of all plug in drum/percussion instruments in SoS, EM, etc. Couldn't decide on BFD2, SD2, Stylus RMX, Battery3, etc.

Then by accident a review of jamstix in EM e.g.: "Jazz composers should also find Jamstix useful, especially with the recently released BrushPak, which adds a brush kit, sizzle cymbal, swing logic, and snare-brushing control to the mix". But then, EM gives a rating of 4 out of 5, while BFD2 gets a 5....?

Looking again to the reviews, realized that these programs are fine if you are a drummer yourself. Jamstix is a threat to any (human) drummer, so they will never give a 5.

The unique selling point is well described in the Remix review: a responsive and learning drummer, and you can alter the level of response /interaction to your own taste. All others are basically passive drum machines. Even Drumcore, which would be for me #2.

So it's a hear-say product from the web. My electronic instruments shop around the corner doesn't sell it (and recommended Battery3).

Believe it or not, by googling virtual drums...found the web site after exploring about 3 sites. Within 15 minutes, I was giving it serious consideration. I was looking for something that went beyond Groove Agent and found it! The demos helped as they seemed genuine and submitted by actual users...

thanks!

Cakewalk (Sonar Forums) (Munmun and SusanG - Thanks!!)

Wish people had explained a long time ago what it was.

Just aways mentioned as "great" But since I already had BFD I did not think this would do anything for me that I could not already do with BFD.

Boy was I wrong....As a composition tool, this is unrivaled. I cannot stand pasting midi groove clips, now I do not have to!!

That should be your marketing...."Never cut and paste midi groove clips ever again"

Not entirely sure - chicken and egg thing.

Either Sonar forum or the samplitude video (great explanation).

Last thing I wanted was another drum programme - I love drum programmes but I felt I was full up of them.

I liked this and the idea of this and the scope it offered.

Early days but I'm really liking it and word on the street is that it has many uses, so I can't wait to learn all that too.

I don't like to recommend stuff early on - honeymoon period and all that - but I've given it a few mentions here and there already!

And the support seems top notch, from what I've read and heard - and that appeals to me.

no time to write anymore -there's music to be made.
