Trying to drag a bar of midi to DAW
Reaper 5
I click+drag on the bright blue "drag midi data from here to host DAW" box onto a track.. nothing happens?
The little "envelope indicator" disappears once the mouse cursor leaves the blue box, is this normal?
Should I be dragging onto the track, onto the track control panel? I've tried many variations and can't figure this out, I've looked at the 2 references in the .pdf, searched here (where people seem to be dragging but having other problems with certain notes/instruments disappearing - but I can't get any midi onto a track)..
?

Trying to drag a bar of midi to DAW
Hi,
All you should have to do is Ctrl+Alt left click the Song Part or Ctrl+ left click the Song Title and then the "Bright Blue" midi box will pop up. Then just left click the blue area and drag into your DAW window. You don't need to Ctrl+drag out of the blue box to your DAW.

I wasn't cntrl dragging. I was doing as you wrote, left click and drag.
Nothing happens. The cursor shows it "has something" as I drag into Reaper, but there isn't a "bar" attached to it, I release the left click over the track and nothing happens.
I've tried the combinations of:
Right clicking on the individual measure/bar icon to get the export/drag menu = blue box;
Right clicking on the the "bar" drop down to get the same thing.
Cntrl click on the measure icon;
However,
Cntrl click on the song part ("VERSE") works as expected, the entire song is brought over - except on the measure that I want - a fill, it seems like it's "recorded" every fill I've previewed, it's just a black page of notes. In other words, not the measure that plays back if I hit play.
?
I only want this one measure drum fill...

Hi Chip,
It is working properly here with Reaper so it would probably be a good idea to use the Manager app to email tech support and send your log files.

It must have soft-crashed? Restarted, now it seems to be working, except...
..a black page of notes where there should be a measure of a simple drum fill.

Please do a 'Save Song' in JS4 for that project and send me the file so I can check this out.

I'm still having problems drag-dropping MIDI to host (Waveform). It will work fine once but the next time I drag a Jamstix bar or section the host crashes to desktop. Restarting the host enables me to drag another midi bar/section to host but a crash will occur if a subsequent drag-drop is attempted.

I should add that sometimes, not always I see an Access Violation in module d3d11.dll error message. DirectX? I'm using on board Intel Graphics.

We're looking into these annoying crashes. Unfortunately they are random and don't happen on our debug machines. Until we have a solution, I recommend exporting to file and then dragging that into the host.
