Have been away from recording for some time. Just came back and updated from 3.5 to 3.6.5 and jamstix is glitching horribly!
Is it that much more resource hungry? I am using Reaper 3.xx.
EDIT: I AM USING REAPER 2.58 (I hope this hasn't changed the whole conversation!)
Thanks in advance.
peace

There should be no difference between 3.5 and 3.6.5 as far as resources are concerned. I've run both in Reaper 3.xx & 4.xx and both worked properly. Can you provide some more info regarding your system and anything that might have changed in it. Also, what do you mean by "glitching"? Audio, GUI, something else?

Good morning,
Jamstix "glitches" only when its window is open. By glitching, I mean that a snare hit turns into a mini 32nd or 64th beat roll.
I have an older PC that has never exhibited this behavior and has run smoothly. Pentium M 1.7 GHz, 1.24 G ram, Win XP.
Thank you...

So everything is the same then right? This just started occurring simply by switching from 3.5 to 3.6.5? If so, try 3 things:
1) Disable all Power Saving options.
2) Disable Load on Demand in Options.
3) Disable Prefetcher in Windows XP Regedit:(this has helped others)
Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters
Name: EnablePrefetcher
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0
[b:822f57539e]MAKE NOTE OF THE ORIGINAL SETTING IF THIS DOESN'T HELP AND YOU NEED TO SET IT BACK.[/b:822f57539e]
Start out with this and see what happens. You might also want to send an email to support@rayzoon.com and ask Ralph directly. I think he's very busy at the moment so you may not get as quick of a reply as usual.

Thanks a_zimuth,
Still misbehaving. I get intermittent machine-gun snare bursts. I tried what you advised. Didn't help.
I opened a new project and tried a quickstart song. Any time the Jamstix interface is open during play, I get the corrupted snare. Songs play fine when interface is closed.
There are red Xs on RH in Bar Editor where glitches take place.
I thought it may have correlated with an external monitor I had attached, but I unplugged that.

EDIT: Try adding the entry that Ralph posted about here:

I forgot about that one.
If this doesn't help, I would suggest that an email to Ralph is the best thing to try next if none of those things helped. Include your rzdlog.txt file so Ralph can inspect it also. I'm sorry that I couldn't be of more assistance. If you do find a solution please post back to let me know, if you wouldn't mind.
