Help with Jamstix on OSX 10.11.6

Hello all,

My first ever foray into midi/sampled music. Downloaded JS3.6 demo for Mac. I have Audacity 2.1.2 and Garage Band 10.1.2 installed. Cannot get JS to be recognized by either host.

I suspect I am doing something wring but not sure. Wonder if anyone here has worked through this and can share their wizardly secrets. I'm a a simple bass player looking to craft drums to play along with. Am looking at EZDrummer 2 but JS looks real interesting and may have a greater percussion library than EZD2.

Audacity can load VST effects (but not VST instruments) and Jamsix appears not to work with Garageband. Have a look at Reaper -

and be prepared for a steep learning curve.
