64 bit Win7 machine issues with JX3 64 bit
Hi Ralph,
Thought I'd post this here as I didn't have any response on the general forum.
---------------------
Having a terrible time with this combo on my studio PC (Win7 64 bit). When trying to run JX3 64bit (tried 3.5 and 3.51 beta 2) Live freezes and has to be restarted manually.
JX 3.51 beta2 32bit works fine on my Win 7 32 bit laptop using Live 8 32 bit.
Edit: Just deleted JX3 and re-installed. It seems I can load up JX3 Standard Song OK and it runs, but when I quit out of Live it hangs and needs to be manually killed using task manager.
Also I tried it with Reaper 64bit, and the reaper.exe process also remains running when looking in the task manager after closing reaper down (post running JX3 in a project)
Is anyone using this combo successfully?
Edit 2: On the same 64 bit PC I tried running JX3 32 bit in Tracktion (a 32 bit host) and it also ran OK but Tracktion.exe and it also had to be killed manually after exiting Tracktion just like in the 64 bit apps above.
Any ideas Ralph? It seems like on my 64 bit Studio PC JX3 keeps the host app running once the host is exited regardless of whether the host is 64 bit or 32 bit.
I have no problems with any of my other vst's in any of the apps listed above
Thanks Jed

64 bit Win7 machine issues with JX3 64 bit
We are researching this issue. Please see if Beta 3 (to be out soon) fixes this for you.

64 bit Win7 machine issues with JX3 64 bit
Hi Ralph
Also having issues with the 64 bit version of JS3.5 beta 3
In Reaper Crashes / freezes on open. GUI not accessible just sits there cant click on anything.
Also Graphic / Menu problems with the 64 bit in FL studio. when I Right Click to add sections to the Song Structure (under wizard) cant access the menus then they disappear leaving the Flatten groove and load menu items. Shortly after this crashes ILBridge. This happens in FL10.09 and Beta 10.10
Cheers

64 bit Win7 machine issues with JX3 64 bit
I doubt this is any help but.....................
I'm running Jamstix in 64 bit mode on a Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit system and I'm having no issues whatsoever.
My system is a 3.2 GHz I5 with 8 GB of RAM with several internal and external drives- all SATA or USB. I'm running Sonar X2d in 64 bit mode.
I'm curious though. Those of you having problems- What version of Windows 7 are you running? I'm shooting in the dark but I'm wondering if you others with issues are also running the Professional version of Win 7.
I'm not sure if there is anything in the feature set that may be affecting anyone else's performance with Win 7 64.
I haven't had this problem with Jamstix but with some other manufacturers plug-ins I've found there are quite a few settings that may affect your performance on a DAW system. You may want to check out a PC Optimization guide for Win 7 on one of the online Home Studio sites like Tweaks or Digifreq, etc. (DigiFreqs has one guide that covers the settings on several versions of Windows) I had an earlier problem with the pops and crackling that was resolved by turning off some of the default visual effects like Window slides, fades and other animations. If you go into the Performance Control Panel Options you can tweak these settings individually or just choose the button for best performance. I've disabled the first 7 or 8 visual effects and it definitely helped with my previous latency issues. This plus things like disabling drive indexing and using msconfig to cut down on what loads at startup gave me a great boost in performance with Sonar before I even bought Jamstix.
If you can't find a good guide- e-mail me and I'll send you one or two.
And.....Sorry for the huge size of this post!

64 bit Win7 machine issues with JX3 64 bit
I am working on a HP DV 7 - 2.3 i7 8Gb ram and 2 Tb partitioned HDD with Windows 7 64 bit pro. Running JS3 in Fl studio primarily but also tested the problem in Reaper. I run JS in Cubase and Pro Tools as well but pretty sure that's the 32 bit version of JS that doesn't appear to have the same problems.
For me it looks more like a graphics issue but have a top Radeon Graphics card ( can't remember exact spec but have updated to the latest drivers recently)
