Sorry Kevin SX3 was my last foray into the world of Cubase so I can't help there. Hopefully Ralph or someone familiar with 6.5 will chime in.

Make sure you don't have midi only highlighted in the mixer view, also you need a drummer loaded and you need to use your saved style as the style.
And i know its been covered but if you just leave the lock button pressed in and use the start stop function of your DAW you should be good.
HTH's cheers

Sorry if I am stating the obvious, but you need to be in "Drum Module" mode to get a midi track to play back.shadowfax_ wrote:I have no sound, locked or unlocked and like i said before if i go to the drum page and click on a drum i get a sound..so what the heck is goin on ?..I've tried midi files from EZD and Groovemonkey ..but nothing..how can it be that i follow the instructions and it doesn't work ? this is a great piece of software and I've got to get it working ..thanks again for your help, if you have any other suggestions please let me know..Kevin

Hi and thanks for joining the discussion, If i go into drum module mode the controls at the top of the song sheet disappear, so can't press unlock/lock..however, on the tutorial video it is clear that Ralph is not in drum module mode..ie normal jam button is pressed in...and the lock/unlock button is on"unlock" then he presses lock to play the midi file..non of this happens for me..any other suggestions welcome..nothing is to obvious..thanks again..Kevin

Kevin this is just something I remembered about SX but I think I had to enable record monitoring to hear vstis playback. It's been a long time but I remember something having to do with record monitoring driving me nuts until I finally figured out what was going on. I don't know if this applies but it can't hurt to check. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Ok looked at that but no joy, I can hear the drums ok if I click on them, I've emailed Ralph so hopefully he will get involved and put me right, It's got to be something daft like when i first bought JS nothing would work and it turned out to be that the licence ( license ) key was spelt wrong ( or right depending on if your English or American )thanks again for your time, Kevin

Sorry, I should have read the whole thread, I thought you were trying to play a whole midi track in Cubase.
I will now have a play with what you are actually trying to do, and report back.
