Hi,
I am having trouble figuring out how to preview a part. I can play whole songs from my host (Reaper), I can preview a bar from the bar editor in JS3, and i can even listen to a part in live loop mode in JS3.
But I can't figure out how to start the transport/play from a part in the middle of the song (ie not the beginning of the song).
what am i missing?
Thx in advance

Hello!
Simply use Reaper's transport and play function for that.
If you want to hear your song, let's say, beginning from bar 20, just move Reaper's play cursor to bar 20 and press the play button in Reaper. You can do all this while the Jamstix3 window is open, so you can visually follow Jamstix what it is doing there.
Hope that helps.

Thanks,
But i guess i was hoping that i could just click on the appropriate bar in the bar timeline from within JS3 and hit play.
I usually use time base for Reaper, not bars, so it is not quickly intuitive where reaper is relative to the bars in JS3. Sounds like this is not possible without moving reapers cursor to the appropriate location before hitting play.

As far as I know, the VST format isn't able to tell Reaper when to play, stop, or where to put the cursor, so Jamstix is simply unable to be "in charge" with regard to those things.
