Clear cache and rescan didn't work, but got it. There were two folders; X86 and regular (both had the izotope vst). Just pointed it to the non-X86 vst folder where jamstix was and restarted..a_zimuth wrote:Options>Preferences>Plugins>VST>Clear cache/Re-scan.

Glad you got it working. Reaper will do that also if there are both a 32 bit and 64 bit version of plug ins installed in the same folder. I don't remember which way it works but either the first one detected or the last one detected will be entered into Reapers' plug in database and the other will be ignored.
Hope you enjoy JS4 as much as I have.

Anyone using REAPER 6 with a high DPI environment: if the Jamstix GUI shows up too small, add this line to the file C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\jamstix4.ini:
UseDPIRatio=1

I would like to ask you for help with Reaper6+Jamstix4+SSD5 combination.
There is probably something wrong in my setup.
I have created one track with Jamstix (added as FX) and have added one simple track with SSD5 as virtual instrument. (don't want to have separate tracks for snare, kick, cymbals, ...)
I thought that if I disable audio in "Send to track" and "Master send" on Jamstix track I hear drums sound only SSD5 sampler (track).
But that's not true, I still hear also sound from Jamstix kit. There is a workaround there: Set volume slider on Jamstix track to zero. I can live with that and just want to know if my setup is really correct or I miss something.

Thank you for your advice.

Hi filo_01,
In the Kit window right click the kit and choose "Set All To Midi Output Only". That will mute all internal Jamstix sounds.

Thank you a_zimuth!
It works but I have found another strange thing so please let me ask you again. When I'm clicking to snare drum the sounds from Jamstix and SSD are different. And they are different even in case when "rimshot" is set in both windows. How it is possible if the Jamstix is serve just as MIDI source?
The sound of all other pieces (kick, cymbals)are +/- equal.

It depends upon what you mean by "different". Maybe the velocity responses are not matched or if the sample played back is different it is a mapping issue between Jamstix and SSD. Since the other kit pieces are working properly, I would guess it's probably a Snare mapping issue, but hard to say definitely without being there and hearing what is going on.

I have recorded a short clip, the Jamstix snare seems to be more full, the SSD5 is an opposite/more dry.

Jamstix & REAPER
Hi filo,
Sorry for the slow reply, I'm really busy. I downloaded your example and tried it with Jamstix and SD2 and the result is the same. It looks to me as if Jamstix and whatever VSTi that is used respond to mouse clicks with different velocities. I recorded separate midi tracks of both VSTi and the recorded midi velocity was 100 from both Jamstix and SD2 on every Snare hit. I then recorded separate audio tracks from both and the audio level was very different between them. I didn't have time to check the actual level difference. So it has to be some sort of internal velocity response.

Hi a_zimuth, thank you for your findings and explanation. So it is a feature, not a bug.
