I don't think REAPER 3 recognizes Jamstix, I pointed to the folder where it was, and even made a copy to REAPER's plugin folder, but it doesn't seem to acknowledge the VSTi

Not sure what's happening for you but it works fine here with REAPER 3. Did you double-check that JS is in the search path and do a re-scan?

You may have an auto-save copy of the song in My Documents\Jamstix2\Revisions. Try loading files from there via 'Load Song' that fit in the most likely timeframe.shemp_ wrote:Any ideas? Anyway I can get it back without recreating it?

I don´t know why, but when I save with shotcut (Ctrl+S) it eventually resets the song. But I´ve tested sometimes saving through menu file -> save and it did not lose its settings. I´ll report this in Reaper forums also.Amberience wrote:Hey Ralph, I can echo that Jamstix loses its settings within Reaper 3.0. I'm on Windows 7, and just re-opened a track of mine, and all the Jamstix settings are gone... it just starts up as if it were a fresh instantiation.shemp_ wrote:I haven't heard any further discussion on this specific bug but this seems to be fixed in the 2.5.1 beta. I am no longer losing JS settings on REAPER saves.!!!!hitch_ wrote:However, into each life a little rain must fall.
Ralph, sometimes Jamstix forgets its settings in Reaper. I can open up a project and the kit, style and drummer have disappeared.
Drummers, you see - you can never rely on 'em...
Any ideas? Anyway I can get it back without recreating it?
I'm using Reaper 3.0.2, and Jamstix 2.5.2 beta 5.
This behavior is present in both Windows 7 and Vista x64 with 2.5.2 beta 5 in Reaper 3.0.2 as well.

Another user said that he had Jamstix problems when using a project done in REAPER 2 and using it in REAPER 3. He did not have any issues when creating/using a new project in REAPER 3.
Are you using the REAPERBypass option in jamstix2.ini?

I'm not aware of this option.Ralph [RZ] wrote: Are you using the REAPERBypass option in jamstix2.ini?

If you add REAPERBypass=1 in the [General] section of the jamstix2.ini then Jamstix will not save data unless the CTRL is pressed. Most who use this option get used to doing Ctrl-S in REAPER to save.

Hey Ralph,
It happened again tonight. Loaded up the project in question (after redoing the drums last night at 2:00am !!
) and again, it did not recall itself correctly. Luckily, this time, I saved a Jamstix2 song and I could just reload it.
Could you please take a look at this a bit further. I don't know if you have access to Windows 7, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to help you if you need it.
I switched over to Windows 7 from a Hackintosh in part so I could use Jamstix2, as I really dig it!

That is a resounding, yes. Sometimes I do.
