Decent Host Application on a Budget

If you mean a DAW than choose Reaper. It is an extremely capable product.

You can download and use it for free forever if you are ok with nagging splash-screen on the start-up.


Another almost free DAW (1$) is Ardour. But it lacks in midi-department.

<t>What I found out is that Groove importer SUP3 mapping breaks my midi file. I tried other options but only Jamstix mapping preserves the beat but it doesnt play hihat and snare brush swirls. I can only have kick and marching snare but it is ok because they are the main parts.<br/>
