JS 2.5.1 skipping notes

I figured it out - In Reaper's midi editor, there is an option to "Automatically Correct Overlapping Notes" - i turned it off.

JS 2.5.1 skipping notes

Weird - as soon as I touched any velocity slider for that item in Reaper's midi editor. All notes are now playing. I'm starting to suspect it's a feature in Reaper. I'll go over there unless someone has a suggestion.

...and also Reaper is correctly sizing and capturing all the notes using note on <vnnn> / note off <v0>. When I said Reaper was only recording the note on messages, I was interpreting the event list incorrectly.

JS 2.5.1 skipping notes

More info...

It seems that if a note has a similar velocity to the previous, Jamstix will not play it. If I edit my velocities, I can hear all the notes. However, I don't want this. I want it as played.

JS 2.5.1 skipping notes

<t>Hi - I recorded some notes on a single pad from my Yamaha DTX1V kit into Reaper. On some of the quicker recorded passages, Jamstix doesn't play some of the notes.<br/>

I put a command line midi monitor on the input and the the notes are coming in as note on <velocity nnn> / note off ...

MAP GM - what exactly does it do?

Thanks for the reply.

It sound like 'map GM' serves a purpose but in my case it will limit flexibility. I'll stick to using alternative methods.

MAP GM - what exactly does it do?

<r>Thanks for the reply.<br/>

Not meaning to belabor the issue, but can you tell me how that's done?<br/>
<br/>
Also, if I add a drum to a kit, is it then addressable via the 'map GM' mechanism?<br/>

MAP GM - what exactly does it do?

<t>What exactly does the button do? Is it a one-shot change note assignments? Or does the button "enforce" the assignments even if a kit is loaded?<br/>
<br/>
Are *all* Jamstix drums mapped to GM notes? (Including HiHat 25%, Half, 75%, foot crash)<br/>

Is there a table somewhere that list the ...

GM drum kits?

How close is Jamstix to following GM drum assignments? I'm about to plunk down some money to get some pre-recorded midi parts and I wanna know how much work I'll have changing things.
