This works better.
I also need to insert 2 'start bars' at the beginning of the song before intro to switch briefly to the Jamstix track to sync to the metronome (like described at the end of the aforementioned video).
Oddities for sure, but it works.

That's because even though the AUi specification allows for MIDI output ...
